Live Music Trust

Live Music Trust

The Beginning

The concept of the Live Music Trust began in May 2008 as an outcome of the open live music forums. The first live music forum was initiated to discuss the state of Hamilton’s music scene after concerns were raised by the music community. The open music forums will continue to be held throughout the year.

The aims of the forum were to identify the current challenges faced by musicians and to then come up with solutions together to create a stable and viable live music scene.

The Aims of the Live Music Trust

  • To initiate, promote, plan and advocate for the development of Hamilton’s contemporary music community.

  • To arrange, locate and secure resources to support live contemporary music performance.

  • To approve and budget for the overall finances of the Trust.

  • To hold a minimum of 2 community forums a year to consult with the contemporary music community
Specific aims and projects will soon be defined
