Glass at the Arboretum
Re:Fraction has opened at the Sculpture Park's annual outdoor glass exhibition, and judging by the amazing images this isn't to be missed. Many local and national glass sculpture artists come together in a very unique exhibition and environment to celebrate and showcase their medium.
Auckland artist Sofia Athineou has installed a 100kg stunning glass piece (pictured left) which hangs at the entrance to the rock garden. The sculpture is named Iris after the messenger between the gods of Olympus and the mortals in ancient Greece.
Other participating artists include Richard Landers (winner of the Swarbrick Dixon Glass Award), Dermot Kelly, Ron Reichs, Colleen Ryan Priest, Di Tocker Jane and Jill Goddard and Gaye Jurisich.
